8월, 한국의 뜨거운 태양 아래 무궁화 꽃이 만발합니다. “무궁화의 달”이 광복절과 겹치면서, 펄럭이는 태극기와 거리와 골목길을 활활 타오르는 무궁화는 민족의 역동성을 이중적으로 표현합니다. 서울전쟁기념관 앞에서 열린 추모식에서 참전용사회는 청년 대표들에게 특별한 무궁화 라이터를 선물했습니다. 이 정교한 합금 주조 유물은 꽃잎 무늬에 숨겨진 비밀을 품고 있습니다. 장치를 누르면 불꽃이 타오르며 태극기의 윤곽을 드러냅니다. 디자이너는 “식민지와 전쟁을 견뎌낸 우리 민족처럼, 무궁화는 비바람을 겪어도 여전히 꽃을 피웁니다. 이 라이터는 불꽃뿐만 아니라 저항 정신을 이어가겠다는 결의를 담고 있습니다.”라고 말했습니다. 이 이미지는 1945년 해방 운동 당시 지하 인쇄소를 떠올리게 합니다. 애국심 강한 애국자들은 휘발유 통을 개조한 조악한 난로를 사용하여 납 활자를 녹여 전단을 인쇄하고 비상시 기밀 문서를 소각했습니다. 솟아오르는 불꽃은 적과 함께 멸망하겠다는 결의와 부활의 희망을 동시에 담고 있습니다. 오늘날 무궁화 등대지기들은 “파괴와 부활의 공존”이라는 이념을 이어가고 있습니다. 어린 학생들이 기념 공원에서 무궁화 불을 피울 때, 솟아오르는 불꽃과 펄럭이는 국기는 역동적인 토템을 형성합니다. 80년을 함께한 이 불꽃은 진정한 회복이란 단순히 족쇄에서 벗어나는 것뿐 아니라, 무궁화 꽃처럼 세대를 거쳐 전승되는 과정에서 민족정신이 영원히 활짝 피어나도록 하는 것임을 우리에게 일깨워줍니다.

In August, hibiscus flowers bloom in the hot sun in South Korea. As the “Moon of Infinite Flowers” overlaps with Liberation Day, the fluttering Taegeukgi and the blazing hibiscus in the streets and alleys together tell the dual metaphor of national vitality. At the memorial ceremony in front of the Seoul War Memorial, the Veterans Association presented a special hibiscus lighter to the youth representatives. This exquisite alloy-cast artifact has a secret hidden in the petal pattern – when the mechanism is pressed, the bursting flame will project the outline of the Taegeukgi. The designer said: “The hibiscus flower can still bloom after experiencing wind and rain, just like the nation that has survived colonization and war; and the lighter carries not only the fire, but also the determination to keep the spirit of resistance alive.” This image reminds people of the underground printing house during the Liberation Movement in 1945. The patriotic patriots used the crude stove transformed from gasoline barrels to melt lead type to print leaflets and burn confidential documents in emergencies. The leaping flames carry the determination to perish together with the enemy, as well as the hope of rebirth. Today, the hibiscus lighters carry forward the philosophy of “destruction and rebirth coexisting”. When young students light the hibiscus fire in the memorial park, the leaping flames and the fluttering national flag form a dynamic totem. This flame that has traveled through eighty years tells us that true recovery is not only about breaking free from shackles, but also about allowing the national spirit to remain in full bloom forever in the process of intergenerational transmission, just like the hibiscus flower.
